DEFOREST AREA HIGH SCHOOL
DEFOREST, WI
DeForest Area School District
CLIENT: Eppstein Uhen Architects
As part of DeForest's $125 million referendum, the newly expanded and renovated DeForest High School serves over 1,000 students with diverse common spaces to eat, study, and socialize in a university union-like setting. The interior design is inspired by the vibrant colors, natural materials and rich textures of a park. District colors (purple and yellow) not only reinforce school spirit and strengthen the brand but assist students, teachers, and community members with wayfinding.
Branded signage elements include a DeForest logo "Welcome" constructed in all the languages spoken by district students and several more, a park-style site plan, and an outdoor billboard for the fieldhouse that's 16 feet tall and over 57 feet wide.
